Contributing to my IRA require proof of W2 or a job?
Asking as I'm not employed this year but have an IRA open. Can I still contribute to it?

@CherlieRYH, if you're not earning any income, no you can't contribute. If you're married though you may be able to if your spouse has earned income.

@CherlieRYH, you need to have "earned income" : wages; salaries; tips other taxable employee compensation; net earnings from self-employment.
