What's hard for you to cut back on? Or where is it hard for you to stop or curb your spending?
As we head into 2021, I'm curious to know what's hard for you to cut back on? What's your spending weakness? Mine: I'm good at saving and cutting back on the usual things you can think about, but BAD at sticking to a budget on gifts for others. I almost never stick to my budget on gifts for friends and family. Having said that, I'm not as nice as I am sounding right now!

Pretty much stuff for my son - clothes, sports lessons, you name it.

I don't like to deprive myself because I find that spending a little here and there helps me to enjoy life a bit more. So I try not to stress too much about certain subscriptions that cost $10/mo or less, but......I'll also add these costs do, unfortunately, add up!

Other problem areas for me are also Amazon and spending on my kids!

Food. Period. It basically took a pandemic for me to cut spending on food, but it's still pretty high-ish.

@Viv853, oh how this rings true for me too. We used to love going out, so now we get delivery more often than I'd like to admit. We love food, and it's been a hard year all around so we reward ourselves with good food, but our spending is still high. We're better now than pre-pandemic and probably cut our monthly food expense for 2 by $400 per month, but we still have some way to go.

Ice cream - a new variety with every grocery order.

Same! I can't figure out how to bring mine down yet... I'm trying to go to Sam's Club for bulk and Aldi for everyday items but I always seem to overspend and have to really watch my purchases late in the month.

@Jimmy298, that's like us...! Have you thought of not buying bulk for certain things? That may help too. I say this because whenever we buy certain food in bulk (mostly refrigerator and even some frozen stuff) we end up wasting. however for things like toilet paper, it's a good deal.

Certain subscriptions like disney plus, netflix, NYT among others. Every month I tell myself I don't need all of them, but I do.

@Clay514 that's me. Subscriptions are a killer for us. Some are absolutely worth it! Others not so much but I can't seem to get rid of them!

@Clay514 this is right for us. I'm certain I can save over $1,000 just on this! Jan 1 is when I will start to figure this out.
